Women would crowd the stage, taking pictures and wait to see if they could touch David. He walked down the stairs and I couldn't believe it.there right in front of me was David Cassidy playing his guitar! He returned to the stage and sang the songs I had grownup listening to. After a short time, he started singing again and playing his guitar. David finished his first two songs and then sat down on the stairs to talk to the audience. Clint knew better than to try to talk to me, he just sat there holding my hand and taking pictures. He was wearing a purple satin shirt and black jeans and looked so handsome. I was on cloud nine! The hours passed quickly and it was show time!!! We found our seats (yes, I got the seat on the aisle) and waited.įinally, the music started and David Cassidy came on stage and started singing I Can Feel Your Heartbeat. We talked for a few minutes and when he found out we had driven so far just for the concert (a birthday gift for me) he said that he would see if he could get an autograph and for us to see him after the show. He was kind and told us that he was sorry for the error and gave us our tickets. I was almost in tears and Clint was complaining that he had just driven 750 miles for nothing! We waited and noon came so back to the box office we went to speak to the assistant manager. The morning of the concert came and so we went to the theatre to pick up our tickets and the lady told us that there was a problem with our tickets and could we return to speak to the assistant manager. We arrived at the Gold Strike early afternoon the day before the concert so we rested and enjoyed ourselves the rest of that day and evening. Clint was never much of a PF fan but he listened without complaining. The day finally arrived and we were (my husband Clint and I) on our way! I had purchased some Partridge Family CD's off the Internet so of course we listened to them on the trip. I couldn't believe it, all I had to do was wait. I couldn't believe it when I called for tickets and was told that I could get 3rd row center seats and one would be on the aisle. So we made reservations to stay at the Gold Strike Casino Resort where the concert was to be held. We chose to drive from Waco to Tunica, a trip of about 750 miles. Still living in Central Texas the closest concert that year was the ones in Tunica Mississippi and Biloxi Mississipp. He said "Okay, get on the computer and let's find one!" Believe you me, I didn't waste any time. Laughingly I told him to go to a David Cassidy concert. My children were now 21 and 17 so they were not at home much and one day my husband asked what I wanted for my birthday. Time passed and after marrying my high school sweetheart, having two wonderful children, working and just everyday life, it seemed that my dream of going to a David Cassidy concert would never come true. I had become a fan of his after watching the Partridge Family and it looked like the closest I would ever come to a concert was reruns of the show.
